Temperature Humidity sensor for TV2 Monitor
This module is a very sophisticated electronic sensor which measures and logs temperature and RH data in any environment. Although used primarily in indoor environments it can be used outside as long as it is protected from moisture.
It is connected to a TV2 monitor with a four conductor wire with 2.5mm connectors. This sensor wire is included with the sensors. (Longer extender wire is available).
The temperature/RH wired sensor contains both a thermistor (±0.3°C) and relative humidity sensor (±3.0%). The individual sensors themselves are mounted on a PCB which also contains a 24 bit analog to digital converter so that only digital information is sent to the TV2 monitor. The temp/rh module also contains a microprocessor and some memory. This improves accuracy and signal reliability. Normally the plug-in module is located close to the monitor but because the actual measurements are converted from analog to digital it can be mounted as much as 300 feet from the monitor. The sensor is energized by the TV2 monitor so no additional external power is required. Once it is plugged into the wire from the monitor it begins transmitting temperature and humidity data.
This sensor can be calibrated with any characterization information entered into the setup menu on the TV2 monitor. This information is stored on the sensor memory located in the sensor module itself, so that if it is moved to another monitor the calibration data all goes with it. There is no need to recalibrate if it is moved to a different monitor.
Each sensor has its own serial number, stored in nonvolatile memory, which the TV2 monitor uses to identify it. The serial number can be viewed on the TV2 setup menu, as well as on the QuickCheck monitor, unless the user has renamed the sensor.
